Here at River Cove Campground, we love welcoming people as they experience the joys of travel. Whether you are coming to stay with us for a few nights, then heading back home, or if you are visiting us as a road trip destination along a nationwide trip, we are happy to be a part of your journey. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Scott Hildebrand, an adventurer who has traveled over 65,000 miles in his camper, and we wanted to share a bit about his story!
Scott, and his co-pilot, Lucky Girl, spent a few nights with us, during which Scott shared a wonderful selection of stories, including tales of obtaining “Breaking Bad” stickers in Albuquerque, and navigating the legendary “Ice Road” in Alaska. These are just a few of the many places that Scott has visited over the course of his travels, and you can actually check out all of his country-wide stops right here!
Throughout his journey, Scott has collected a wide variety of stickers from the various destinations that he has visited with Lucky Girl, and those stickers are all displayed on his camper! And now, we are honored to say that Uncle Jim’s River Cove Campground has earned its very own spot on the back of Scott’s rig, with a sticker that will now be with him for his travels. We are thankful that Scott chose to stop here at our campground as a road trip destination along his travels, and we hope to see him and his four-legged friend around our campfire in the future!
Scott’s journey is a reminder to all of us that there is always adventure waiting for us out there, and that all we need to do is choose to seize it. For instance, right here in the Great Smoky Mountains, there are over 800 miles of hiking trails that offer the chance to experience stunning natural beauty. From roaring waterfalls, to panoramic views, to the area’s native wildlife, and so much more, there is no shortage to the adventures that you can have right here in the Smoky Mountains.
