You’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that our campground in the Smoky Mountains is open all year long for your enjoyment, including throughout the winter months! Winter is a wonderful time to experience the joys of our campground, complete with dramatic scenery as you are completely surrounded by nature! Whether you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, need a break from cabin fever, or just want a change of scenery, you’ll love staying with us throughout the winter season! Here are the top 4 benefits of a winter camping trip to our Smoky Mountain campground:

1. Stunning Winter Scenery

The Smoky Mountain scenery is dramatically different in the winter months, offering snow-capped peaks and long-range vistas without the leaves of the thick summer forest canopy. Despite the colder temperatures, the winter weather in the Smokies is actually rather moderate at the lower elevations so that you can still enjoy plenty of outdoor activities; just bundle up for any sudden drops in temperatures! This means that you can still take advantage of our campground amenities like a playground, dog park, and recreational equipment!

2. Delightful Solitude

Another one of the top benefits of a winter camping trip to our Smoky Mountain campground is that you’ll find delightful solitude! While our campground is peaceful all year long, the winter season is particularly tranquil so that you can relax and enjoy the sights of nature. You’ll also find far fewer crowds at your favorite nearby destinations, such as Great Smoky Mountains National Park, The Island in Pigeon Forge, and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. You may quickly discover that winter becomes your favorite time of year to visit the Smoky Mountains!

3. Plenty of Availability

Since winter is typically a less busy time of year at our campground, you’ll find wide availability, including at our premier RV sites that are located directly along the Little Pigeon River! All of our RV camping sites are full hookup sites that include water, sewer, electric, cable, and WiFi, and we have 30 and 50 amp connections available. In addition to RV sites, those who want a more traditional camping experience can bring a tent! Our premium tent sites each have a fire pit, a picnic table, and a charcoal grill.

4. Ideal Camping Conditions

The colder weather of the winter season can actually be a big perk while staying at our Smoky Mountain campground! The crisp and clean air creates ideal sleeping conditions as you snuggle up under your blanket or into the warmth of a sleeping bag. You also don’t have to worry about the nuisance of any bugs disturbing your outdoor picnic, so go ahead and fire up the charcoal grill for a winter picnic at our campground! As a bonus, you can take advantage of the cooler outdoor temperatures to help preserve your food and beverages with natural refrigeration!

Get more information and book your stay at our Smoky Mountain campground today to plan your winter camping adventure in the Smokies! We look forward to seeing you soon!
